La Costa Michoacana: "Loneliness" beach

The place where I live has a beach, it takes 4 hours to get there, but we have a beach. Beautiful, peaceful, unique; the Pacific Ocean. Sand, salt, water, biodiversity, lots of biodiversity. I love the heat, the sun. I know I'll end up with a house at the beach, somewhere upon the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, or the Atlantic waters. "I wish I had a beach house, so we can make a big fire every night! Instead I'm just crazy, totally mad!"

The blog has been a little out of order for a long time now, life's been busy! Exciting, and interesting, and busy: traveling around the world, learning not only facts but trying to acquire actual knowledge, without time to sleep, running,screaming, singing, thinking... living. Although life's been what's been, I miss bloging. So here we go again, hoping it can last up until June 6th, the date when Med-school's starting :)

This is how I felt at the end of the day :) Happy; good violin class, nice chat with the Russian violin teacher, and an interesting time at pre-med-school. Plus, math homework's done, I finished reading that bioethics article, and I'm almost done with a book I have to read. What a productive and relaxing way to start the week! There are some issues I'm a little worried about, but that's ok, I know I'll figure out something ;)

Yes, I know, I'm a nerd with a blog. For an unkown reason inside myself, I stopped taking so many photos... I think it's because now the opportunities for it have lowered, meaning, music lessons and music school at downtown stopped. Today Mr. Bob Dylan made me realize how much I miss people, how much I miss those people who have left and now are far, far away all around the world. Market day! Today, I was walking from my English class to my dad's office and... what am I seeing?!!! A beautiful mexican maket!! Market day! YES!! Market day! It its very interesting because the people there really know what they're doing and this time, I had a long conversation with Mr. Fish Saler. He explained how he cuts the fish's head and how he removes the "escamas" as we say ;) And I had another long conversation with Mrs. Flower Saler about how to make tea with the herbs she sells... With almost 3 months without school my summer has been... productive? I've seen Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of "Gossip Girl", Seasons 1 and 2 of "Make it or Break it", and Season 1 of "Pretty Little Liers". Pluuuus a bunch of movies! Good movies :D such as "Inception", "Salt", and although I'm not a big fan of children's movies, I enjoyed "Toy Story" and "Mi Villano Favorito" as we say in Spanish ;). I've got only 1 more week free before school starts again and I'm... kind of excited! This is my last year of high school, but more than that, I'm excited about what's coming up next: C O L L E G E.

This is the new pretty, little, dress and I'm loving it :) Tomorrow my beautifuly curly haired friend Cristina and I are going to the final concert of the Conservatory of Music's Summer Course, it is supposed to be for kids but, you can find the tiiiiiipical adults who are still giving music a shot without minding they're like... past 40?? It should be nice, the concert I mean, or at least I hope so. Only the best musicians get to play on this one, but still... just two or three kids have the strength to take it seriously in the future. Pluuuuuus after the concert there are tacos!! Yay :) Free food, here we go :P We're soooo "wedding crashers"...

I want to have my own indoor collection of succulent plants! :D And, why not? Maybe a couple of outdoor plants too...

I'm having one of those days... Saint Saens's music was good yesterday :), the girl playing Introducción y Rondo Caprichoso not so much. I have curly curly hair, and I like it looooong! But... now's short (thank you so much hairdresser ¬¬), and it's NOT working. I haven't figured out yet how to manage this short-ness. Indeed, thunderstorms have been present in my daily schedule. Even though it's summer, I swear each day is getting colder. I mean, the last day with that special warmth was waaaaaay back in May! Trouble, trouble, and mine's double! The time has come. I've reached that certain age where all teenagers must make important decisions. Decisions that may influence the rest of their/our whole lives. NOT FAIR! Ok so, university is a must do, and I want to go. Yes I want to study something nice and complicated ;) For now, money matters... meaning that I'm so not going to any Ivy League school. That's ok, I mean, those weren't even my first options. Options: UT, UCLA, Berkeley, UC San Diego, NYU, Mcgill. Scholarship intense research has officially started! I'm feeling so anxious, but you know, in the bad way. The way in which you just wished you could start the year as easily as going to your old high school. The way in which you wished all the paperwork and tests could be done by a couple of personal dwarfs or something, and I could just... relax!

I cut my hand today! Mom had just bought some apples covered with candy, my stomach was so hungry that I didn't think clearly and... BLOOD! Extremely boring weekend, extremely weird... really. I mean, I didn't even feel like myself! Anyway, I guess we all just have to have one once in a while :) whatever.

Mexico is the country of the "days off", but like, for real. We have days off for all kinds of things: Virgen de Guadalupe, los Reyes Magos, 5 de mayo (Batalla de Puebla), 28 de febrero (Flag's Day), 10 de mayo (Mother's Day), 30 de abril (Children's Day), 1 de noviembre (Día de Muertos), 1 de mayo (Work Day). And more days off due to: Sindicate's Day, Students' Day, Father's Day, some schools would even celebrate Grandparents' Day if they actually could!

I'm telling you this because... thanks to 30 de abril-1 de mayo-5 de mayo, I don't have school until Thursday!! OMG some of us really want to study and learn some things, but in the other hand, we all could handle a little break ha ;) Yes, this is how things are done in Mexico weeeeeeey!! You could easily just party every night if you hang out with the right kind of people... (and still this weekend was SO dull!!)

Today I went to the "Tianguis de la Ciencia" at CU (ciudad universitaria: the local university's campus) and it was AMAZING! I loooove those kind of things! Expect some pictures soon, soon soon :). I've realized some things about myself over this couple of weeks:

1. I loooooove to write on books, using a big bright highlighter and HIGHLIGHT! (not too much though, just the right amount).

2. I looooooove my white scientific calculator just for the fact that it makes me feel so powerful when calculating some kick-ass numbers like the distance from the Earth to the Sun, from Venus to the Moon, the possible center of the Earth, distance between particles, the weight of Pluto...

Mi maestro de armonía dijo algo la última clase: "tanta belleza asusta, tanta perfección espanta", y creo que tiene algo de razón. Las modelos, las cover girls, de ahora siempre tienen algo que las hace magnéticas, unos grandes ojos, una gran frente, una mirada un tanto extraña... Pero yendo más lejos, o tal vez, yendo más cerca, sí, tanta belleza asusta, y tanta perfección espanta a diario. ¿Cuántos chicos no se han atrevido a hablarle a esa chica solo porque se ve inalcanzable? Porque es tan perfecta que intimida, por más relajada que sea, porque varias veces, ellas son las más solitarias de todas. Todos las admiran, nadie les habla, y ellas no entienden. Algunas no les importa entender, la que es linda es linda a fin de cuentas. ¿Y los chicos? Caen en los vanos (o productivos) esfuerzos de "buscar" alguna mujer de lo que ellos piensan es "su nivel". Sí, es obvio que la chica bella intimidadora tendrá sus estándares un poco más altos, pero ¿quién quita el intento? Conozco a varias así. Casi todas las chicas de mi colegio, y las del "círculo social". Increíblemente hermosas, sin siquiera un galán a la vista. Dicen que "para cada roto hay un descosido", así que chicas perfectamente bellas e intimidantes, solo es cuestión de tiempo para que llegue el valiente (o los varios estúpidos), mientras, la fiesta de la vida es grande, el carnaval no espera, y las noches de estrellas cada vez pasan más rápido con un buen labial rojo a la mano y música en los oídos...

I'm a list lover, I love to do lists, unconventional lists, not grocery lists or homework lists, no. I love lists that are different, like lists with the names I love (my kids are going to end up with a bunch of them, or I'm going to have a bunch of kids ha!), or 2010 to do lists (bungee jumping, karaoke, Coldplay, beach, road trip, etc). The list I'm going to introduce you is a song list. You know, every girl has kind of a mental list of the songs she'd die if someone dedicated them to her. I don't know how those things work in other places, but at least here in Mexico, some boys dedicate some songs to some girls... :) and I love it! El viendo hacia afuera, hacia ella. ¿Qué sucede? Preguntando. Introspección. Lo entiende. De todas formas, le gusta, en el fondo sabe que la ama, aunque no le pone una etiqueta a eso que siente. Sus ojos no pueden evitar mirar. Lo sabe.

Okay, so long time no post! Why?? One word; grounded. It seems that you are visiting the ultimate rebel's blog, according to my parents. What did I did? A bunch of stupid stuff, like not answering my phone, and driving my parents crazy, answering nonsense... pretty much that was it. After one whole week of owning anything but the clothes I wear, everything worked out well, and after some of those classic talks "you're almost an adult, what are you going to do when you go to college on your own", all my things were given back, including the priviledge of using the internet (crazy punishment huh??). So, I'm back :) god, it feels good!

**So, I'm into this jazz song now, it really defines how I feel about love, relationships and all that stuff, plus the rythm is great, and the girl has a very nice voice. Oh, how I wish I could be a jazz singer :) "I'll be satisfied", sung by Hope Waits, you should really check her out, she's rocking!**

She looks so damn free! I know she is...

I just can't wait to be that, that free. Be on my own in an unkown place, far away from home. Home's good, don't get me wrong, but I'm just tired from the routine, I want to live, and face real consequences! REALITY. I can't wait to know what else is out there, it must be great. Some people tell me (okay, adults tell me... okay my mom tells me!) that in order to be free, I mean, real free you must be free wherever you are, that you don't need to go anywhere to be free. That bothers me a little (okay, a lot!), because maybe you can be free wherever you are, but if you don't really feel free, what's the use of it? Maybe you just have to experience that sensation, freedom, in order to feel it at any place, maybe not. Maybe it's all in your head, and this one, i'll tell you, is probably true... Any way, it's not long until college, so I'll probably just keep trying to break free until real freedom comes along :)

With all those issues solved... now I give you, red :) in my life.

My little brother got me this toy, in one of those machines that have kind of a metalic claw...oh, he's the sweetest!! :)

**Oh! And btw, I'm still struggling about those friend-boyfriend issues, can't really choose what to be, or what's the best for me. The deal here, is that I know what I want to be, but I'm not sure "society" will aprove that decision. Maybe it's time to change that ha!**

I've been thinking, thinking, thinking and came to realize that... what i like the most about relationships is the beginning. That first time you both knew who you were. The first time you set eyes on each other, and suspect, or not suspect at all that something big is ment to be. Destiny if you want, whatever. That first time your heart beat started to go ridiculously fast when he came to ask you your name, your number, what kind of things you were up to... And then, the rush of blood to your brain as you wake up and see he had texted you or something! Those sweet talks before you go out... And then, the dating, the best time of the beginning time. The emotion to go out, both knowing you are something more than friends, but not clear enough yet to call it anything. How you timidly hug each other, not knowing well enough if it is all right, if it is the best way, if the other one likes it. The looks. This part is my favorite. You can tell lovers love if you see the way they stare at each other. Sweet & tender, (magical?), and the way, suddenly the girl's face turns red, and they smile, sharing a secret. THE secret. No one talks, they don't have to, they know. And every day is so special, and we all love the certainity, and the uncertainity of the relationship. :)

What has been going on lately:

*Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs trauma (again!).

*Cold, bloody cold! And freezing air, which makes everything colder!

*Make it or Break it, tv show about girls, gymnsastics, and everything else that comes along with it (for some strange and undiscovered reason i loooove gymnastics, so, that serie is a new "must see").

Okay, so... every time i'm more convinced that being a guy is so much easier than being a girl. You can notice it even in songs! Yes, writting a lovely song to a girl is way simpler than writting a cool song for a guy... don't you think? You can talk about how pretty, cute, tender, magnetic, mysterious, attractive a girl is. You can talk about her skin, about her eyes, even about her hair, or the way she's dressed! How could you put those elements in a song written for some boy without freaking him out & maintaining all our laid back coolness?! Anyway... it is what it is, and even though we are in XXI century, and girls and boys are... lets say "at the same level", I still think it's easier to talk about your girlfriend. Come on ladies, we know we are lovely! :)

Question of the week: what do you lovely ladies think about kissing, hugging, sitting in the legs, holding hands with a really loved friend of yours? Supposing you don't have a boyfriend, you and this boy have been friends for like, forever (because before puberty everything seems like forever!), and you really care about each other, but not in that boyfriend-girlfriend level.

Pleaaase give me some answers! ;)
